Extraordinary Dreams of an Ireland Traveler

Extraordinary Dreams of an Ireland TravelerExtraordinary Dreams of an Ireland Traveler by Rosemary Adkins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an extraordinary travel book for those thinking of visiting Ireland and for those who prefer to travel sitting on the living room sofa. Rosemary Atkins talks to the reader as if she was sharing a cup of coffee or maybe some Irish Guinness beer. As she takes you along on her travels through this lovely Emerald Isle, she also lets you see the beauty of the land through her eyes and plenty of pictures throughout the book. Through researching heavily before taking her trip, she points out the best places to eat, five star hotels for reasonable rates, and which attractions are worth your time and others that you should pass on. The book is well-written in easily understood instructions for making your trip as simple and enjoyable as possible. She relates some of the popular legends of Ireland, like the tale of "Molly Malone" as well as rich historical accounts of years past in an often troubled country.

Author Atkins has designed a beautiful cover for a wonderful coffee table book as well as a book that any traveler visiting Ireland should take along as a handbook for getting the best for the money and visiting the most interesting and lovely places. Rosemary Adkins takes the time to suggest which airlines to use, ways to navigate when you get there, such as rental car rates, shuttle buses, taxis and a lot of walking. She'll explain why it's essental to pack lightly and which seasonal clothes to bring, giving you the general temperatures of Ireland, especially in the summer. And if that isn't enough to delight the traveler, Ms. Adkins devotes the back of the book to lists, prices and promotions, including where to get free tokens--taking this time-consuming chore away from the vacationer and allowing them to more fully enjoy their journey.

This is a wonderfully written travel book, highly recommended and deserving of five stars.
